In this video we show how to diagnose a Briggs and Stratton engine that will not turn over, it tries and partially turns. If you remove the spark plug and fuel pours out of spark plug hole, it's a carburetor issue. If it's dry check the valve adjustment, I set them at .004 in. Then turn the engine over by hand slowly and look for the bump. If no bump the ACR (automatic compression release) has broken off of the cam camshaft.
We also show how to look up the correct parts, use ONLY OEM parts. You will need a cam, sump gasket and a pto crankshaft seal. The valve cover can be done with a gasket or sealer, your choice.
