Gigafactory Texas on 13 August 2021! This is where the Cyber Truck and Model Y will be built!

Gorgeous Friday the 13th sunrise at Giga Texas this morning and full speed activity too! We fly the drone around the primary work site today and see many new areas of progress along with a major milestone with the completion of the basic steel structure for the entire General Assembly structure! Expect to see the official “topping” ceremony and installation of the final beam sometime today or possibly tomorrow.

Of the special deliveries today on the site, the most exciting are the IDRA containers being loaded into the casting machine structure … most likely for the #3 6,000-ton Giga Press!

We also see several cranes being disassembled as they are no longer needed … the age of the cranes is stating to come to an end at Giga Texas! There is a lot to see and many details are discussed in the video introduction, including images and diagrams. A lot to see in the video too as there are too many details to cover in the intro. Here are the highlights from today's video:
- There is a new area of trenching and electrical conduit installation along the northwest side and onto the frontage road near the "narrow" area next to the battery cell structure.
- The battery cell structure is getting more exterior wall panels installed and quite a lot of interior walls and other interior work as well. On the roof, we see the cementitious material and insulation application around the HVAC opening as well as a large area already completed with the final weatherproofing material.
- New walls are going up on the General Assembly structure west side, resuming where they had temporarily stopped and heading to the south. The big news, however, is the completion of the basic steel structure on the south end, meaning this entire structure steel assembly is now completed (except for one beam that is being intentionally withheld)! The official topping ceremony should take place in the next day or so when the signed final beam is installed.
- On the south area, we see road construction in progress on both sides and under the south bridge. There is one new section with rebar and forms, which may be for a concrete portion.
- There is a new tent-like structure being erected on the north end of the paint shop building … unsure what this is for at this time.
- In the “alleyway” area between the paint shop and battery cell structures, we see the steel assembly continuing and what appears to be a wide area for a bridge crane as the rails are in the process of being installed.
- The casting machine structure shows a lot of work on the casting machine foundation (#4), clearing other areas where foundations will be going in the future and on the roof. We also catch some images of more IDRA deliveries being loaded into the casting machine structure!
- The central area excavation continues to grow in both length and depth, and roofing/flooring decking is being added to the steel structure. There is a defined "hole" in the middle to allow the pump trucks access when concrete begins.
- The scaffolding in the middle of the central area attached to the GA structure is now gone and several cranes are being disassembled as they are no longer needed.
