In July of 2023 I joined a clean up event on the Thames foreshore organised by Thames21. Find out more about Thames21 and what we got up to by watching this video. Find out how you can become involved (https://www.thames21.org.uk/)

Plastic pollution is a global issue that destroys environments, diminishes biodiversity, increases global warming, and harbors immense potential to impact human health. Find out how you can help here:-

In July of 2023 the organisation Thames21 (https://www.thames21.org.uk/) organised a community celebration at Broomhouse Dock in West London -celebrating the ways the river is already used by the community and exploring new ways the locals can value and protect it. During the day the Thames foreshore was open to the local community and activities such as fish sampling and litter surveys took place. We also collected lots of plastic that had been washed up and spoke about possible solutions to the plastic pollution problem.

Thames21 is the voice for London’s waterways, working with communities to improve rivers and canals for people and wildlife. They mobilise thousands of volunteers every year to clean and green the capital’s 400 mile network of waterways. Thames21 aims to transform neglected waterways into areas that everyone can use and enjoy, by using innovative and tailored community approaches.

Thames21 works hand-in-hand with local communities to improve and maintain our waterways by

Engaging people of all ages, abilities and from all parts of society in their local waterways
