Well, you can never say that some actors wont go to extremes in order to inhabit a role. Some go the way of packing on the pounds, while others are determined to lose a ton of weight in a short amount of time. Whatever the job, these Hollywood stars have done it all; from crazy crash dieting to spending untold hours in the gym while chowing down on protein in order to get into character. Whether it was Chris Pratt’s transformation from Andy Dwyer into a super hunk in Guardians of the Galaxy, Jonah Hill’s fluctuating weight for movies like War Dogs and TV shows like Maniac, Natalie Portman cramming years of ballet training into a couple of months for Black Swan, or a young Tom Hardy getting absolutely huge for Bronson. There was also Jared Leto’s weight gain for Chapter 27, Demi Moore’s serious dedication to changing it all for G.I. Jane, Anne Hathaway starving herself in order to take on Fantine in Les Miserables, or Sir Ben Kingsley changing his entire lifestyle to accurately portray Gandhi. Along with them, Jake Gyllenhaal dropped a ton of weight for Nightcrawler and then packed it on for Southpaw, Emma Stone trained like a professional Athlete to play one in Battle of the Sexes, and Ryan Gosling made the mistake of putting on pounds for The Lovely Bones before he was eventually fired because of it! All these stars and more turned their bodies and lives around in order to get into their characters skin, in a big way!
