Brian Hoey interviews Richard Burton and his wife Elizabeth Taylor on the platform of Cardiff Central railway station.

Burton and Taylor were in the city in January 1965 to watch Wales play England at rugby union on the Saturday.

Burton had been in London for just over a week, filming scenes for The Spy Who Came in From The Cold (Paramount, 1965, based on the novel by John Le Carré) and would travel on to Dublin to continue work on the project. He and Elizabeth Taylor had recently completed The Sandpiper, filmed in California (MGM, 1965).

The interviewer also refers to their 1963 MGM film The V.I.P.s, the first they worked on together after Cleopatra (Twentieth Century-Fox, 1963). Wales would, as Elizabeth hoped, beat England, by 14 points to 3, on their way to the Triple Crown.
