The goal of the Oklahoma Circumnavigation Route (OCR) is to stick closely to the border of the state on publicly accessible roads regardless of surface type. This was our eighth weekend trip as we continued to validate it. Mapped out by Chad, Mike and I would accompany him and document the experience.

During this October 2023 trip we’d travel the OCR from Seneca, Missouri to near Fort Smith, Arkansas. We’d take some interesting side trips, including to the only remaining portion of Route 66’s nine-foot-wide Ribbon Road, Natural Dam, Sequoyah’s Cabin, Fort Smith National Historic Park and Spiro Mounds. This day 2 video covers the OCR from Siloam Springs, AR to Muldrow, OK, including a side trip to Natural Dam.

This would be yet another circuitous journey that would run into occasional private land and require rerouting. And it was additionally challenging because many school districts were on fall break and early hunting seasons were open, thus making available camping areas full and limiting our access to wildlife management areas. But to learn and identify the challenges associate with such an ambitious route were why we were pre-running the OCR before Chad published each section!

The music includes Nat Keefe & Hot Buttered Rum's "Cuckoo's Nest" and "Come With Us", and Asher Fulero's "Wind Riders". These songs are available for free use in YouTube videos at the YouTube Audio Library.
