In this video, I share what I observed about Galician and Portuguese differences. This video is about the differences between Galician and Portuguese. The two languages did come from the same language, but they have been divided for hundreds of years. We go over the history of Galician and Portuguese briefly and how/when they split, and the sound changes, spelling differences and discuss how far the languages have drifted. If any speaker of Galician or Portuguese knows some false cognates between the two languages, then please comment with all the ones you know! If you'd like to know more about why there are two standards for the Galician language, let me know and I'll make a video explaining the reasons on both sides.
