It seems Xerox is leading modern technology research and innovation. Steve Jobs and Bill Gates and other technology leaders have copied what Xerox PARC had in terms of usability and effeciency personal computers. Thinks like graphical user interface, Ethernet and the computer mouse. This will reveal some secrets behind Apple technology.
Technology leaders such as John Warnock and Chuck Geschke, named their company Adobe after being part of Xerox Palo Alto Research Center known as PARC. . This will reveal some secrets behind Adobe technology
Larry Tesler was one of the main leaders first in Xerox, then Apple, and Yahoo.
The sad thing is that, Xerox invented most of the world changing technology, but they failed to use it.
Xerox is still active and contributing in things like 3D printing and additive manufacturing.

Strangely enough, Xerox management did not have the vision or willingness to utilise these inventions, in a real market product. The reason was, they didn't want to loose focus on their base product, or thats what they thought.

Now we know, PARC scientists created the world's first personal computer in 1973. It was so innovative that it inspired Apple to design what eventually became the well known Macintosh.

Steve jobs employees, Jef Raskin and others, convinced him to take a tour in PARC. Xerox were happy to show all there cutting edge technology, in return of allowing Xerox, to buy a hundred thousand shares of Apple, for a million dollars. In this famous tour, Steve jobs was fascinated by all what he saw in PARC, but in particular, he could not believe his eyes when he saw the graphical user interface.

Within xerox strategic failure, the big opportunity for Apple and Microsoft came knocking. Raskin wrote: “It does not take much imagination, to see that a portable computer, will open up entire new application areas, and once again give Apple access to a totally untapped market,” . And they were quick.

Apple diverted xerox resources into Apple Lisa, and subsequently into Macintosh.

Shortly, Bill Gates, and without Apple or Xerox consent, unveiled a graphical user interface environment, he called Windows. And along with it, a mouse-based word processor, called Microsoft Word. This is how Microsoft started, copying Xerox PARC invention, and conquer the market of personal computers, with Windows.

Adobe.

John Warnock was one of many brilliant engineers, working at Xerox . He developed a language called enterprises, to control Xerox laser printers. He and his boss, tried for two years, to convince Xerox to turn enterprises into a commercial product. When this failed, they decided to leave Xerox, and try it on their own.

John Warnock and Chuck Geschke, named their company Adobe,
Steve Jobs with his vision, liked the technology, of Adobe, and invested 2.5 million dollars in the company, and convinced Warnock to create a PostScript controller, for the Apple LaserWriters.

Yahoo.

During Steve Jobs famous visit to Xerox PARC, an engineer named Larry Tesler, conducted the demonstration. He wrote on an elegant word processing program, and exchanged e-mails with other people at parc, on the world’s first Ethernet network. Tesler was one of several Xerox PARC employees who left the company in 1980, to join Apple Computer, following this visit. Whats interesting is that, Larry Tesler later, joined Yahoo in 2005 as a vice president, of user experience and design. He redesigned the interface for the Yahoo front door. carrying with him all the experience and innovation he gained, during his long stay at Xerox and Apple computers.

Just recently, Xerox made this industry breakthrough in the field of 3D printing, and supply chain efficiency.
The new field is called, additive manufacturing. or basically enabling on demand manufacturing, using a machine called Xerox ElemX 3D printer. This advanced printer, uses available metal alloys, to produce specific machines parts when needed.
