It is now a full year since we took delivery of the Porsche Panamera e-hybrid. It is used as my everyday car and we are now getting close to 9000 miles. Each and every journey is exciting and I genuinely believe this car has the best interior of any four door on the market. I even prefer it to the New Bentley Conti, less brash perhaps. I have found a way of increasing the e-range whilst driving and not destroying your overall consumption and this has lifted the overall mpg, which includes many fast drives, to around 36mpg, in my eyes extraordinary given over a third of my mileage occurs in town!!

It's standard air suspension cossets and rewards in equal measure and the overall fuel consumption in town is little short of remarkable, I have had seen 67miles per gallon indicated on one trip between Surrey and the centre of London and back with an average in the low 60's being the norm. Combine this with the knowledge that towns no harmful emissions are produced so we are also doing our bit for the planet. However cold weather does seem to diminish both the overall fuel consumption and the e-range. Getting below 50mpg in London when the temperatures drop below 0! With real world e-range being in the low 20's.

The e-hybrid has 462Hp available and this endows the car with plenty of instant acceleration because the electric motor spools in a nano-second to supplement the twin turbos of the 2.9 litre 6 Cylinder combustion petrol engine. However it is the torque that you notice most in everyday driving, this car has 700Nm of torque, (516lb ft), compare this to the Panamera 4S which is 9000 pounds more expensive and has 550Nm, (405 lb-ft), of Torque. This is really noticeable in everyday driving!!

The Panamera e-hybrid will accelerate to 62mph in 4.6secs and onto 100 in 10.7secs. Top Speed is 172mph. Put simply this is fast! Don't kid yourself not supercar fast but sufficiently quick enough to notice the power delivery in everyday driving.

Should you require additional performance there is the Sport Response Button. This gives added punch for short periods, 20 seconds or so. Porsche say: 'Pressing the button in the centre of the mode switch primes the engine and transmission for the fastest possible unleashing of power (e.g. for overtaking)'. It does make a difference!

Thanks for watching guys and please make sure you subscribe to see further videos as soon as they are released.
