On the 21st of September, it was announced by Nikola that their founder and chairman, Trevor Milton was stepping down from all executive duties. This came as a shock to members of the tech community, and even the world in general, considering the force the company has become over the years. But this resignation comes with several serious allegations; and resigning might not be able to save Milton from running. Stephen Girsky has been made chairman of the board; he is the former vice chairman of General Motors. In a recent tweet, Milton announced that he will defend himself against any allegations that have been leveled against him by outside detractors. Now, let's examine the many allegations that have been put against Milton. On September 21st, the stock suffered a plunge of 30%, even though they were able to recover some losses in the opening bell of Monday's trading. Also, 10 days before his resignation, Hindenburg Research came forward to describe the action of Trevor Milton as nothing but an "ocean of lies."
