FORT MADISON, IOWA - 2018

BNSF's Southern Transcon, linking Chicago, Illinois to Los Angeles, California, serves as one of the premiere railroad corridors in the United States - with train after train of largely intermodal traffic ferrying consumer and industrial goods across the vast Great Plains and Southwestern Deserts.

Through Iowa and Missouri, the line traverses the rural rolling hills as the Marceline Sub, with a character unlike that of other segments of the line. With numerous tiny villages surrounded by lush farmland and grazing cattle, the line features plenty of curves - but all are packed with superelevation to keep this busy railroad slicing through it all at speed!

This is BNSF's Marceline Subdivision, A Railroad Superhighway, by the Thornapple River Rail Series!
