Hydration is critical for a motorcycle rider on longer trips, and I wanted to see if I could repurpose a water pack meant for hiking and mountain biking into a tank bag on my BMW R1200 RT. I found a 2 liter backpack which was the right size for the stock tank mount, and with some simple sewing and cutting I was able to make a nicely fitted tank bag to hold the water bladder. The tank bag easily unclips and flips down for fueling. If you want to make your own version, here is what I used:
