In this brief history of Brexit I explain how it all started with Nigel Farage complaining about the EU of which he was a member for twenty years. I explain how David Cameron, worried about losing votes to UKIP agreed to a referendum after the 2015 general election which resulted in a vote to leave.
After the #brexit #referendum Cameron left and Theresa May became prime minister. She struggled until, unable to make progress on Brexit and after a disatrous general election in which she lost to Jeremy Corbyn, she was forced to resign and was replaced by #borisjohnson and from then on standards and integrity in government began to collapse. After the Downing Stree parties scandal Johnson was forced to resign and was replaced by Liz Truss. Her premiership, the shortest ever, was a disaster and she was forced to resign after just seven weeks. #rishisunak repleced Truss and is proving another disastrous prime minister and everything seems to be falling apart as Tory donors enrich themselves.
