Suggestions on LOW cost or even free insulation:
- Call local hardware stores/box stores about ‘offcuts’ or damaged foam board
- Craigslist postings under ‘materials’ for used foam board / damaged foam board (free section?)
- Freecycle for your region, post a wanted ad if need be
- Connect with carpenters, demolition people, contractors, do they have old piles or know where to send you?
- Perhaps you want to use wool or natural materials for insulation?
- Cob is a labor intensive but free and very ethical/environmental way to consider framing a space
- Wattle and Daub with some mud and sawdust
