Amidst rising tensions, China has directed its ire toward the United States for deploying the Navy’s USS Carl Vinson carrier strike group (CSG) in the South China Sea. The Chinese Communist Party’s mouthpiece, Global Times, launched verbal salvos at the US, leveraging the viewpoints of two Chinese maritime analysts. They claimed that the US Navy was ill-equipped to counter the anti-carrier warfare capabilities of the People’s Liberation Army.

Quoting Chinese experts, Global Times asserted Beijing's military dominance in the western Pacific, emphasizing the vulnerability of American carriers to long-range missile strikes.
