An early September tour of my fruit and vegetable garden in a cold climate (growing Zone 4B) in its third year. In the spring of 2020, I cleared a quarter of an acre of mixed hardwood forest in central Ontario, Canada, to create a fruit, vegetable and herb garden to feed my family of four. This year, I grew a large variety of vegetables but focused primarily on highly nutritious and high calorie foods such as potatoes, corn, beans, squash, carrots, beets, rutabaga and more.
