Two short extracts from Today at the Test highlights programmes from 2003.

The first comes from the first Test Match of the summer, as England take on Zimbabwe at Lord's. This is the day after James Anderson took his first test match wicket (which was, in fact, untelevised in this country as Channel 4 had already wrapped up their coverage so that they could show Hollyoaks) and Mark Nicholas (in his 'arty' phase in these highlights programmes) pontificates on some hand gestures. Frankly, this is all a bit of a waste of time when you only have 23 minutes to fit in a day of cricket but there we go, that's what the Channel 4 highlights programmes were like in 2003.

It's also worth noting the irony of Andrew Caddick featuring in the titles sequence when he had already played his last match for England, but I guess we weren't to know at that stage (and it is a fantastic shot, one of the best of what is a genuinely excellent titles sequence).

Then we move onto the next a closing package from the Test Match of the summer, the first ever to be held in Durham, where the unlikely hero is county pro, and good honest seamer Richard Johnson.

I'm afraid that these are the only extracts of these programmes that I have recorded.
