With added HP in the low - mid range the heavier 440i doesn't feel too dissimilar to the 340i. Inside the cabin its nearly identical in the front with the 340i feeling a bit more spacious with head room, the same feeling continues to the rear of the vehicle. If you need to have child seats, we strongly recommend the 340i over the 440i. Rear trunk space is similar but the sedan has easier access. The 340i is essentially a better overall car because it does everyone the 440i does dynamically. The coupe styling and the mild hybrid system don't add enough spice for the inconvenience of having to justify the front end of the 440i to everyone. Yes it will grown on us but I think it will happen with the full M cars not with the soft looking 440i. As it stands the 340i is better or the very least the same in most aspects. With more space and very similar feel to drive the 340i is simply the better BMW.
