My youngest son has the smallest bedroom in the house and he suggested a loft bed as a way to maximize space! I was able to build him a simple bed from budget lumber so that it's sturdy and fun, but also something we can take apart if he ever changes his mind... which is fairly likely since he's 8! I'm using 2x6s, 2x4s and pocket holes to build this. We brought in a paint color from his new wallpaper and sprayed all the pieces in the garage before bringing it up to his room to assemble. I was able to partner with Spoonflower for updated wallpaper, bedding and curtains so the whole room feels new and improved! He loves it and has spent so much time reading or listening to podcasts from his cozy loft bed!
