OneWire (http://www.onewire.com/videos) interviews Joe Perella of Perella Weinberg, in the latest installment to the Open Door video series with Skiddy von Stade.

Joe Perella graduated from Harvard Business School with a Masters in Business Administration after serving in the Air Force and the New Jersey Air National Guard. His first job was with First Boston, where he worked in the mergers and acquisitions department. In 1988 he teamed up with Bruce Wasserstein to found Wasserstein Perella & Co., a mergers and acquisitions advisory business. Five years later, Joe joined Morgan Stanley as Vice Chairman and later Chairman of Institutional Securities and Investment Banking. In 2005, he left Morgan Stanley and founded a global advisory and asset management firm along with his partner, Peter Weinberg.

"Successful people work harder than the average person. Luck enters into it, I call it serendipity, but you make your luck by really working hard."
