Ingrid, a Swedish photojournalist, travels to the Sinai coast to cover the ongoing conflict. One evening, freedom fighters take her and imprison her in the desert. They plan on using her to spread awareness of their plight as well as to hold her for ransom to earn money for their people's needs. Soon, Ingrid develops a meaningful relationship with one of her captors, Ali, and they fall in love. Conflicted, Ali must choose between saving Ingrid from a cruel fate or remaining loyal to the cause.
