Interested in a career in Data, but worried that you don't have the relevant experience? To celebrate International Women's Day join us for a special talk highlighting ways to encourage more women into careers in data. We are very proud to have expert recruiter Stephanie Hampel share how she has help develop the Information Lab's Data School application process to motivate more women to apply.

We will also have two other women talk about their experiences hiring and applying for data roles. Firstly, Jia Yan Ng, who is currently part of our Data School program, talk about her experience, and how a more wholistic recruitment process gave her the confidence to apply for the role. Lasty we will put Laura Scavino, Manager in Accenture UK AI Alliances and GTM Strategy team , in the hot seat and ask her about her how she's approaching encouraging more women to join her team

Speaker Biographies
Setphanie Hampel
Stephanie joined The Information Lab in March 2023. As a recruitment specialist for The Data School London, Stephanie supports candidates through the organisation's unique application process. She is passionate about inclusivity and ensuring a positive candidate experience regardless of outcome.

Jia Yan Ng
Jia Yan is a data sorceress at The Information Lab who turns data chaos into strategic gold by crafting insights that empower informed business decisions. With 3-year tenure as a software engineer preceding her master's voyage in Data Science, she is no stranger to tech challenges. Off the clock, Jia Yan immerses herself in the high-speed world of Formula 1, find balance in yoga classes, and strategizes over board games.

Laura Scavino
Laura has a background studied International Business Management at Kent Business school. Her love of data started in 2017 when she joined The Data School. After finishing The Data School program she worked as a data consultant before moving into customer success and discovering her passion for clinet relationship management. She now sets strategy and manages large partnerships in the data and AI space.
