We are building our dream house from the ground up, together as a family.

The house will be 28' x 54', which comes in at just over 1500 square feet of floor space. There will be three bedrooms and two baths.



This week, we finished framing the bedroom partitions, master bedroom closet, and the bedroom hall. It's getting HOT, and we are moving full steam ahead to get all the walls framed up before summer's death rays hit.

Our house is a pier and beam foundation, so we are just that much closer to the sun!

The Dewalt nail gun behaves itself again, thankfully.

We get another 2×4 lumber delivery, but this time the lumber is super warped and difficult to work with. Sometimes, we have to tag team framing walls to keep the warped lumber in line. We run out of lumber and have to make a special Sunday trip to Lowe's. We are very careful to inspect each piece so we don't get warped ones again!

Once we have the final six 2x4 studs, we are able to raise the final wall. We raise it in four pieces because the door headers are heavy. The kids have been begging for us to drain and clean out the pool for summer, so that's all we get done in this video! Yes, we build our off grid house with every spare minute, but we don't forget that we are raising children alongside raising walls.
