GridFree had the pleasure of visiting Pete and his son, Ben, at their off-grid cattle and sheep farm. After a short ride in a trailer on the back of a quad bike, we stood in awe of the mesmerising 180-degree view of Raglan Beach from the top of the rolling hills of the sheep paddocks.
About 35 years ago, Pete found this beautiful piece of land near Raglan Beach and strangely nobody really wanted it. There were no services, dirt roads and it was really off the grid! But Pete fell in love with the land and was happy to make it work with whatever he had at the time.
When Pete first moved to the land he lived in a tent followed by a funky Caravan before converting a shearing shed into an awesome open plan living space.
