Instagram: In this short stenciling tutorial, Greg Swisher from Cutting Edge Stencils demonstrates how easy it is to stencil a Farmhouse Floral Pattern in the Grisaille Style. Grisaille means "shades of gray" and Greg shows you how to get 3 different stenciled values to give this accent wall the look of 3 dimensions and light and shadow. Stenciling with one color, gray in this case, does not have to be boring! Just make sure you get different values of the gray. Value is a term for how light or dark a color is. So on this stenciling project, Greg makes sure he gets at least 3 different values, alight gray, a medium gray and a dark gray. All with the same stencils! And the look is so sophisticated yet easy to live with and to decorate around.
