The Mavic 2 Pro is a great drone. It's not perfect, but it's a huge improvement over the original Mavic Pro. And while it's not as sharp as the Phantom 4 Pro, I'm still happy with the drone and plan to use it for the next year or so. The image doesn't feel over sharpened or digital, and I love the colors. It's also the best flying, longest range drone I've used. But for this review, I've focused in on image quality.

🎥 Suggested Camera Settings

Best Quality Settings : Color / Dlog-M / Syle : +1 (or 0), -1, 0 + Natural LUTs and distortion correction in post.

You may prefer to Denoise the +1 footage at ISO 100. It'll take the edge off and clean the shadow noise. Alternatively, if you like 0 sharpening, then you may want to sharpen a bit in post. I'm still testing between these two because it's a close call. I think that +1 sharpening with light noise reduction will likely look the best, but will be a little more work in post. The Noise Profiles include a light sharpening "regular" preset and ISO profiles for doing this. They also come with lowlight settings and a LUT for ISO 3200-6400 dlog footage, which has a strong color shift in the blacks.

Easy Workflow Settings : Normal - Style - 1, -2, -2
- Normal mode has additional sharpening added. It's too much IMO, so I suggest -1 sharpening to compensate. Normal also does not need distortion correction in post, although you do lose grading flexibility and some dynamic range.

FAQ:

- Does the SkyGrades Natural LUT pack need additional grading? - No. They are ready for export, but can also be creatively graded if you want.

- How do the Noise Profiles work? - You NEED to have the plugin Neat Video. It's the effect that does the denoising. The profiles tell neat video what the sensor noise looks like, and then the presets tell Neat Video what to do with that noise. the program is like magic. Even if it seems nitpicky to remove shadow noise at ISO 100, the cleaned image makes your exported and recompressed file look better. Youtube will really mess up all over a noisy image when it re-compresses your video, so the cleaner the better.
