Banff Sunshine Village is absolutely brilliant. SSV is one of the most incredible places I've ever had the pleasure of skiing. It actually might even be my new favourite mountain. It goes 0 to 100 real quick as a few short hikes lead you away from the beautiful rolling open alpine to the most extreme, heinous, steep and exposed inbounds terrain I've ever seen in my life. This extreme freeride skiing area known as the Delirium Dive is avalanche controlled but still requires avalanche gear and training to access it. As a whole, the Delirium Dive area is the largest steep skiing zone I've ever seen. There is a lifetime of gnarly lines to check off at Sunshine Village and the cold temps keep the snow nice all season long.

If you'd prefer to not get involved in extreme steep skiing, don't worry, the rest of the mountain absolutely rocks. The vast majority of the mountain is open alpine and the groomers are wide open with insane views. It's not often a mountain is perfect for everyone from beginner to pro, but Sunshine Village checks all of the boxes. This one is a bucket lister and might be my new favourite mountain.
