A RAD is used to access the programming in the Nortel Norstar with a windows PC. This can be done by dial-up or by serial connection.

RAD stands for "Remote Access Device". The typical part number is NT8B80AAAB.

A software package called Norstar Remote Utilities is used to access the RAD.
Since there are very few brand-new RAD in circulation now, almost all are used and will require a Default before they can be used. That is covered in this video. but, the sequence is also listed below as well.


DEFAULTING A USED RAD:

Use a M7310, M7324, or T7316
Note: Needs 2 intercom keys


First set date on the system to April 15th 1999
then:

Feature 9**

hit left display softkey 5 times
hit center display softkey 6 times
hit right display softkey 8 times

press HOLD
press digit 2
press digit 1
press release/RAD now defaulted
