A RAD is used to access the programming in the Nortel Norstar with a windows PC. This can be done by dial-up or by serial connection.
RAD stands for "Remote Access Device". The typical part number is NT8B80AAAB.
A software package called Norstar Remote Utilities is used to access the RAD.
