Kicking Horse Mountain Resort in Golden, BC, is nothing to mess around with! Huge vertical drop and ridiculously steep runs, low foot traffic leading to absurd snow preservation, one of the best 360 views in the world (better than Whistler or Blackcomb), relatively cheap lift tickets, and nonexistent lineups... What more can you ask for?

It was the first time there for both of us and we only did the one day - a quick there and back from Kelowna. I believe it was 8 gondola laps (Kicking Horse has an interesting layout that you can hear more about in other videos with less riding and more talking) in total and around 9000m of vertical for the day, which is pretty ridiculous compared to our home mountain of Big White. Kicking Horse doesn't have the snow ghosts that Biggie does, but it has the same champagne powder and it's pretty wicked fun! We both rode some of the steepest - if not the steepest - lines of our lives there, and it really put the taste on the tongue of more extreme freeride in the future. This will definitely be an annual destination for us now.
