Thank you once again to Ford of Santa Monica for hooking me up with a brand new Shelby GT500 Mustang. If you are interested in this car, visit the link below for details.

With 760 Horsepower and 625 Torque, this is the most powerful car I have driven on my channel to date. I have driven all types of cars from track built BMW's to Lamborghini's and Ferrari's, but never have I been so scared to slam the throttle like I was in the 2020 Shelby GT500 Mustang.

The feeling of being in such a purposeful and focused "racecar" is unparalleled. I truly felt like this car does not belong on the streets. Hugged tightly in the Recaro bucket seats, I also felt like I need a 3 point harness as well as a helmet to drive the GT500. The sound it produces makes it so difficult to stay below 3500 RPM, its just too enticing. And when you finally build up the courage and slam the throttle, you better take a gulp and be prepared to be fully engaged on what is directly in front of you. Because the objects that are directly in front of you are changing so rapidly that you may not have time to react.

Lets talk about a couple of options on this car. The paint stripes are a must because the car looks naked without them. But they come at a heavy cost. How does 10% of the cars total price sound? That's right, $10,000 for some painted stripes. The most crucial option however, is the Carbon Fiber Track Pack with a price of $18,500. This includes a rear seat delete, some Carbon Fiber on the dash, a massive adjustable Carbon Fiber wing, and most importantly, the game-changing Carbon Fiber wheels. Yes, this is one of only a handful of cars that come with Carbon Fiber Wheels. Thanks to those wheels, that makes the $18,500 Carbon Fiber Track Pack a bargain considering that a set of Carbon Fiber wheels will usually run you about $20,000.

This is not the type of car you can just drive while talking to your passenger and looking up directions to nearest Starbucks on the fly. The Shelby GT500 requires ALL of your attention, ALL of the time. Watch the full review to see why I think this car does not even belong on regular streets.
