In this latest update to my 2021 @RamTrucks 3500 MegaCab Limited, I finished all of the current @bankspower upgrades with the exception of their tailpipe which is still not available to date. So here is a little history on my truck and why I went this route in my modifications. For the past seven years, I have been Leasing my trucks, and have enjoyed logging over half-a-million miles on the #Ram2500 #Cummins powered trucks. Each one, logged over 100K miles before turning them in. Just prior to Covid really hitting everyone, I bought a 2020 Laramie Longhorn 6.7L and it was my favorite by far, but a client wanted the truck and I had settled on buying the most truck I could get WITHOUT researching the true differences between the Standard Output (SO) and the High Output (HO) 6.7L engine options. Sure the HO made more power but it came with the highly acclaimed #AISIN transmission for doing real work. With my mind made up, I called the Dealer and asked what they had on the lot, "I needed it now" kinda a thang. They had this loaded out, absolutely gorgeous 2021 Ram 3500 MegaCab Limited with all the bells, whistles and I pulled the trigger! I purchased this truck, sight unseen as Kernersville Dodge, Ram store is 3+ hours away from where I live. On the way home, I immediately noticed the fuel economy was horrible... like 15 mpg at 65mph, but the stereo was insane!! I started THEN, after buying it and taking it home, to do my homework. Just a couple days later after installing the #BulletProofHitches 10" drop with frame supports hitch, I hauled the first boat to Florida and to my shock, a boat that I would normally get 12-13mpg pulling with the 2500 is getting me 9mpg with the new truck! I was devastated!! I just lost more than 15% of my income right off the top! To make matters even worse, I no longer have the free oil changes and tires as I did with the lease, so now I am into buying FOUR rear tires every other month instead of two!!

On an oversize trip from New York to Washington State, 3000+ miles, I had my first real issues as the display lit up with "DEF System Failure See Dealer" and then went into #LimpMode!! I hooked up my scan tool, viewed the code and determined it was actually linked to a dirty fuel filter. I reset the code, got the truck out of Limp Mode and then continued on my trip after replacing both fuel filters. Within a day, crossing the Midwest states with a high headwind, the code popped up again!! This time knowing the fuel filters were fine, I sought a Ram dealer to bring the truck in. After wasting six hours, their tech reset the ECU, installed a reflash and sent me along my route once again. By the time I hit Montana, I had three more interventions with the code coming up again and the truck going into Limp Mode. I went to yet another Ram Dealership and this is when I started to understand, the programming for the DEF system is based upon the testing RAM conducted hauling WEIGHT on a flatbed trailer in controlled environments. They never hauled something oversize with tremendous drag against 30-40+ headwinds to determine the true maximum rate of DEF flow to the exhaust system. Once the intelligent Tech told me this, since he was NOT allowed to test my truck with the trailer attached, I knew nothing other than a full delete was my option. So with less than 15,000 miles and still a full warranty ahead of me, I removed everything!

After much research, I went with http://www.UnlimitedDiesels.com for the parts and was pleased with their immediate response. I opted for the #EZLynk system as it is the ONLY system not designed as a "Delete Device" but rather a Fleet Tracking Tool, really smart people have figured out how to utilize for greater purposes. This makes a difference!! The tuning is from http://www.ProvenDiesel.com and their smokeless tuning on a 5-position SOTF setup has been flawless!! I made good progress on my MPGs but the reliability was the key here!

For Decades, I have followed #GaleBanks and everything he does, but when I saw he was building products specifically for the RAM High Output, I was ALL IN! I visited with Gale Banks as can be seen in another video I will link below and as you will see in this video, their products speak for themselves! I now can achieve 19.5 mpg cruising at 70mph and have seen up to 11.5-12mpg towing large 33'+ Offshore Center Console boats on the highway. The power is insane, over 1600 lb/ft of torque and with the deep aluminum transmission pan, the temps have not once strayed from normal 168 degrees, even on 90+ degree days!
