We discuss wages and I created a rough guide of cost/wages vs time comparison between the electrical apprenticeship and the diploma route, and feel that I give a good argument for starting an apprenticeship at any age, regardless of financial commitment, as the cost saving on an apprenticeship is comparable to the pay drop in the first year.

We also give tips and ideas on how to negotiate a better wage for yourself, as the minimum wage is just that. It is the absolute minimum wage that you are allowed to be paid depending on your age, but you are perfectly entitled to negotiate for more depending on the value that you add to the company.

For those of you looking to change career, I tried to include a lot of information in there for you too, as career changers usually make the best learners as they are more invested in their future and I love having you in the class, as it helps the younger ones see where the bar needs to be set.
