Critics claimed The Troggs recorded raw primal or "caveman" music. Later, they referred to The Troggs as an early example of punk. The band had several popular songs, but the one that towers above all others is "Wild Thing," written by Chip Taylor, and lead vocal by Reg Presley.

I remember it well, one of the highlights of the spring and summer of 1966. "Wild Thing" reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. In the UK it peaked at #2. The song has been recorded by others, but this is the definitive version. Technical: A better fidelity original audio track was added and lip sync was corrected. The clarity of the video track has also been improved upon. This sixties' video is not from a TV appearance or a concert. It's a pioneering effort that predates the music videos that became common in the early '80s.
