We talk to Philip Plantholt from Munich, who has been with Flightradar24 in Stockholm for seven years.

"The Facebook of aviation" was once the Wall Street Journal's headline about the Swedish radar spotter service Flightradar24. In 2006, two former plane spotters came up with the idea of setting up a network of radio receivers - in private homes - they capture all aircraft movements worldwide and display them in real-time on a digital map.

Not only aviation fans know and appreciate the service of Flightradar24 from Stockholm. It has become a convenience product of travel.
