The PMPV MiSu is a Finnish made six-wheeled amphibious mine-resistant ambush protected armoured personnel carrier (APC) designed for the Finnish Defence Forces as a possible replacement for its XA-180-series vehicles. The first version was produced in 2015 and test production began in 2017. It was designed to operate with ease of use, simple structure and low-cost maintenance. The basic appearance and configuration of PMPV Misu is similar to most wheeled MRAPs. The Misu is fully amphibious. The vehicle's nickname "MiSu" is derived from the Finnish name "MiinaSuojattu" (transl. mine-protected) and "PMPV" stands for "Protected Multi-Purpose Vehicle". The main superstructure is mainly manufactured from 6 to 12 mm of armour steel enhanced with Exote liner and the bottom is mine strengthened, the front windows are bullet-resistant. The vehicle has continuous six wheel drive and good capabilities for off-road driving. It can take inclines up to a maximum of 60%. The prototype has a mass of 14 tons and is equipped with a 6.7-liter Cummins diesel engine with a full capacity of 285 hp (torque up to 980 Nm).and an Allison six-speed automatic transmission. Of the three all-wheel drive axles, the first and third are controllable. The maximum speed on the highway reaches 110 km/h. Movement afloat at a speed of up to 10-12 km/h. It is stated that the payload reserve is 10 tons. The armored hull of the vehicle is made of new high-strength armored steel, developed and manufactured by the Finnish company Ruukki (part of the SSAVB group). A wide range of mine protection measures has been implemented in the design, the armored cabin and the armored hull are "hung out" relative to the frame of the car. Two people are accommodated in the armored cabin. The landing compartment with the aft exit accommodates ten paratroopers placed in shockproof chairs, the floor is suspended in the form of a three-layer "honeycomb" crumpled structure. Each place of the paratrooper is equipped with mounts for weapons and a socket for recharging equipment. To monitor the situation, the car is equipped with a circular system of six television and one thermal imaging camera. It is possible to install weapons.
