Price trends for sports and supercars turned down. But this does not apply to all cars. Prices for these five cars continued to increase during the most recent period: Ferrari 599, F430, Scuderia coupe, F355, Porsche 911 GT3 (996 and 997.2)

While the majority of the car market is correcting, price trends for a few outliers are still showing a positive momentum. These are the Ferrari 599, F355 Spider, F430 Scuderia coupe, and Porsche 911 GT3 (996 and 997.2).

But are these cars so popular that the price trends can move against the market trend? The cars indeed have some commonalities; they are relatively old models, are in limited supply, and serve a niche customer segment. However, when we inspect the underlying market movements, we can see that a continuation of the uptrend is not self-evident. In the Ferrari 599 market, for example, we can see that the advertised time has been increasing as is now back to pre-pandemic levels. Moreover, not all price increases are fully statistically confirmed, this means that they could be the result of chance.

The above makes that these cars are risky purchases if you are hoping for a value increase in the short-term.
