For over a year, I have wanted to get red calipers on my Tesla Model Y. There are a number of ways to accomplish this mod, but most of them require quite a bit of cost and equipment.

The cheapest option for getting red calipers on the Tesla Model Y or Model 3 is to paint them. The paint is not very expensive, and if you have time on your hand, G2 is a great option. That said, you have to have the car lifted for 4 hours, which means you need special equipment.

Unlike traditional cars, you cant simply jack a Tesla up in the air, place some jack stands, and have a stable platform. With a Tesla Model Y and 3, you need special equipment that will hold the car stable in the air for extended period of time. Special jacks for the Model Y and Model 3 are available at a cost around $175 each. This is really expensive and starts to take away the economy of painting the calipers yourself. In addition, there is a large time commitment in doing the G2 paint system.

Next is to have them powder coated, which is also very expensive. This can range from $500 to $1k to have professionally done. Again, more than I want to spend to get this done.

Finally, we have the best cost all around, caliper covers. These covers from Evannex are aluminum with a red powder coated finish. In addition, there is faux hardware to add to the overall look of the covers. This is by far the cheapest option and looks incredible on the car.

To do this, you only need a couple pieces of equipment and can get this done rather cost effectively. My Model Y now has the look I was hoping for at a cost substantially less than other options.
