Roland Sabatschus flies the 6 meter wingspan, 145kg B-25 "Apache Princess" powered by 2 Moki 400cc, 5-cylinder radials at the D-Day Model Fly-in, Creully France. The aircraft was designed and constructed by Dietrich Ebert. The final build was completed by Roland and his two brothers, Mickey and Daniel.
This is the first flight after on-site repairs to the right engine were required due to a failure of the cam-ring drive gears. On the previous day, the drive gears for the cam-ring and carburetor impulse pump failed during startup. Spare parts were borrowed from the builders of a giant scale, 8-meter wingspan C-47 which was also on display. "Thanks for the parts loan chaps!"
Repair work was carried out by Thomas Schmidt and Stephan Zaun of Aeroflug who are also members of Rolands team,
The Legendary Fighters from Germany.
