A chance encounter with an Albino Smooth Ray! The annual molting of Spider Crabs attracts many Smooth Rays in to the shallows for a feed while there are thousands of crabs congregating and shells are still soft. At this years molt we had an amazing encounter with a beautiful albino smooth ray who has unfortunately at some time been caught and had its tail cut off by a fisherperson. Fortunately laws are now in place to protect rays from cruel and unnecessary mutilation.
