Hubbell is a small 100% volunteer station that goes above and beyond to serve their community, responding to approximately 20-30 calls each year, including medical emergencies, trauma incidents, and fires.

In this episode, we'll uncover the incredible transformation of an airport truck repurposed into a dedicated vehicle rescue rig. Hubbell's volunteers have turned this robust vehicle into a true lifesaver. The repurposed truck features water cannons on the front, perfect for tackling those hard-to-reach car fires, such as electric vehicle fires. It's equipped with an extensive toolkit, including the jaws of life, rams, cribbing, hand tools, and more. This rig is essentially a rolling toolbox that comes to the rescue in emergencies.

One standout feature of this station rig is its four-wheel drive capability, a necessity for dealing with the harsh winter conditions in the northern reaches of Upper Michigan, where they receive an average of about 300 inches of snow. Hubbell's dedicated volunteers demonstrate their unwavering commitment to their community's safety by utilizing this remarkable vehicle.
