these guys are polar opposites through and through, with alex always wearing a suit and tie, ultra-conservative republican, money-loving power believeing guy.

Ellen is an art major, loves free and is as liberal as anything.

yet alex can't help but be attracted to her. he tackles the situation as a child would, picking fights and getting mad at her for not being able to stop thinking about her.

he almost loses her though, and finally comes to terms himself that love, can be more important than anythign else he believes in.

the show is family ties, a sitcom from the 80's. it ran for 7 seasons, and i love it dearly :3
