We sampled the Toyota Corolla Cross XS, the model is powered by a 1.8-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 103kW at 6400 revs/min with an estimated fuel consumption of 6.8l/100km; and it’s mated to a Continously Variable Transmission (CVT) that powers the front wheels.

The model features a distinctive black grille flanked by LED headlamps with Daytime Running Lights and an Auto High Beam function. At the rear, elliptical tail lamps provide a sleek and sophisticated look, flanking the rear door that offers ease of accessibility.

Inside, the Corolla Cross is equipped with convenient switches on the multifunction steering wheel for a range of functions. The touchscreen infotainment system can be linked to Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. And when you use the MyToyota App, you can enjoy seamless in-car Wi-Fi. The XS models come with manually operated seats wrapped in black partial leather.

It also comes equipped with Cruise Control, rear Park Distance Control (PDC) and a reverse camera. All Corolla models come fitted with SRS airbags and ISOFIX seat anchors. On rainy days, the rain-sensing wipers ensure the road ahead is always visible.
