First copyrighted in 1947, Charlie Parker's "Donna Lee" has become a bebop jazz standard. Originally improvised on the chord changes from the standard tune "(Back Home Again in) Indiana", "Donna Lee" first came to be during a jam session between Parker, Miles Davis, Bud Powell, Tommy Potter, and Max Roach. This chart has since gone on to be known for the difficulty of its melodic lines, as well as the intricacy of its rhythms. We hope you enjoy this performance of a jazz classic by the Jazz Ambassadors!
