Richard Childress said last week that Tyler Reddick will be in a third RCR car next year, but is that really going to happen? I have my doubts. Perhaps Childress is simply seeking a buyout from 23XI Racing owners Denny Hamlin and Michael Jordan, but vowing to acquire a third charter before any deal has been signed seems like an odd negotiating tactic. With the payout structure of the charter system, it does not make sense to field a non-charter team full-time, even if you want a third car to be available for Austin Hill in 2024, so what is the plan? Will Reddick be in an RCR car alongside Austin Dillon and Kyle Busch next year? Or will he be in a 23XI car alongside Bubba Wallace and perhaps even Kurt Busch?
