On an 18 hour layover in Hong Kong, I try to do (especially eat) as much as possible! It was my first time in Hong Kong. Most surprising thing: photographs of the dense skyline don't do it justice. My hotel room was on the 50th floor, and I could look out the window and see an endless sea of eclectic, skinny skyscrapers. Truly Blade Runner-esque!

The British influence make Hong Kong very friendly to travelers who speak only English. The public transit is great, the food is cheap, and the density of things to do is unmatched.
