Turns out we still have yet another 2019 flop to talk about, this time with Roland Emmerich's Midway that was budgeted at around 100 million dollars, with a box office gross that didn't break even by a longshot. Weirdly enough, Midway is a movie that very few people heard about and ever fewer went to see. Nobody was expressing opinions about this movie, and turns out it's because there is nothing in it to form an opinion about -- a hollow blockbuster with nothing in it. In today's family friendly episode of Anatomy of a Failure, let's see what emotional components Midway is missing in order to make its audience feel nothing. Weirdly enough, this video seems like a cousin to my Mortal Engines — The Curse of Size | Anatomy Of A Failure video.

The Dark Knight (2008)
Christopher Nolan steps back into the director's chair for this sequel to Batman Begins, which finds the titular superhero coming face to face with his greatest nemesis -- the dreaded Joker. Christian Bale returns to the role of Batman, Maggie Gyllenhaal takes over the role of Rachel Dawes (played by Katie Holmes in Batman Begins), and Brokeback Mountain star Heath Ledger dons the ghoulishly gleeful Joker makeup previously worn by Jack Nicholson and Cesar Romero. Just as it begins to appear as if Batman, Lt. James Gordon (Gary Oldman), and District Attorney Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) are making headway in their tireless battle against the criminal element, a maniacal, wisecracking fiend plunges the streets of Gotham City into complete chaos.
