The Kalmyk Loop makes a great end of line loop knot, but I personally prefer to use the Imitation Slipped Bowline:    • Imitation Slipped Bowline - Fast Easy...   One problem that I have with the Kalmyk Loop is that if the knot is dressed incorrectly, you can end up with a dangerous knot! However, if you understand the how to dress the knot correctly, then you will find this to be a very useful knot.
The Kalmyk Loop is often used by bushcrafters as this loop knot is very easy to tie and as it is slipped, it is extremely easy to untie. It is possibly an alternative to the Bowline?
