Nuclear medicine and the topic of radiation as a whole remains widely misunderstood by patients and members of the public. In this video, the science behind radiation will be discussed as well as how the field of medicine is able to use this to help diagnose and treat patients with various diseases. As well, the safety and regulations of these procedures will be illuminated with the help of the works from Dr. Josip Zic, McMaster University’s Senior Health Physicist and Direct of Health Physics.
