I had the pleasure of filming the Porsche 963 LMDh Hypercars of the Penske & Jota teams on the Imola circuit for two days of testing organized by Kateyama in March 2024. Indeed, for the teams participating in the endurance world championship, it was an excellent opportunity to test the cars and look for the correct settings for the upcoming WEC 6h race in Imola, which will take place on the weekend of 19-21 April in Italy. The Porsche 963 LMDh (as per the regulations for LMDh cars, which are more restrictive than the LMH) uses a chassis derived from the LMP2 cars. In this case, the starting point was that of the Multimatic Mk.30. The combustion engine is a 4.6-litre flat-plane V8 derived from the engine of the hybrid Porsche 918 Spyder and moved by a 7-speed sequential X-Trac gearbox. Williams Advanced Engineering supplies the hybrid part, and this battery develops around 50hp, which brings the total combined power of the two power units to 670Hp, a value close to the limit imposed by the regulations. Ho avuto il piacere di filmare le Porsche 963 LMDh Hypercars dei team Penske & Jota sul circuito di Imola per due giornate di test organizzate da Kateyama nel mese di Marzo 2024. Certamente per le squadre che partecipano al campionato del mondo endurance è stata un'ottima occasione per provare le vetture e cercare i settaggi giusti per l'imminente gara WEC 6h di Imola che si svolgerà nel week-end del 19-21 Aprile in Italia. Le Porsche 963 LMDh (come da regolamento per le vetture LMDh, più restrittivo rispetto alle LMH) utilizzano un tealio derivato dalle vetture LMP2 ed in questo caso la base di partenza è stata quella della Multimatic Mk.30. Il motore termico è un V8 flat-plane da 4.6-Litri derivato dal motore della Porsche 918 Spyder a propulsione ibrida e mosso da un cambio X-Trac sequenziale a 7 rapporti. La parte ibrida viene fornita dalla Williams Advanced Engineering e questa batteria sviluppa circa 50hp che portano la potenza totale combinata dei due propulsori a 670Hp, valore vicino al limite imposto dai regolamenti.
