Ice Lake has to be one of the most spectacular destinations for the hiker that wants an experience to remember. The hike takes you through the forest and crosses some beautiful streams and cascades. The high alpine meadows full of wildflowers is another big benefit for those interested in photography. However there is little that can compare to the final destination of Ice Lake. If you are looking for a fantastic setting at the end of the rainbow this is it.

I think it might be wise to be prepared and go prepared for this walk. It is difficult and strenuous. The steep sections are just below and then above Lower Ice Lake Basin. The weather can move in from a direction where it may not be seen until it is on top of you, be ready for it. When we went the flies were horrible.

All in all this is one of the best hikes I have ever done, it made me think of Cananda.
